The Daedong Festival, a large-scale festival with students and local residents gather to enjoy art and culture every year, attracted more attention as it celebrated its 100th anniversary. The festival continued to heat up on the second day. On the second day of the festival, the Student Music Festival, was a highly anticipated event for many students. Students who performed various genres of music appeared on the stage and showed their skills. The participants of the Music Festival showed off their individuality and musical talent and gave a wonderful performance in front of their friends and audiences. After the Music Festival, a special celebration performance by celebrities continued. The Popular celebrities invited to this festival were Kwon Eun-bi, Homies, Wooah, and MC Seobi. They heated up the festival even more by presenting their hit songs along with new tracks. ▲ Singer, Kwon Eun-bi performing at the festival Yoon Jae-hyun, a Business administration student who was enjoying the festival, said, "I am enjoying the last festival before graduating from college, and I think it will be remembered as the last good festival because there are many celebrities and various events this year." In particular, he was looking forward to the college student song festival on the second day. He said, "I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like just because many schoolmates have prepared a lot." During the festival, various booths and events were prepared in addition to performances. Unlike last year's festival, the booth locations were moved from the university cultural center to the parking lot next to the Convergence Hall.
This change allowed for a greater variety of booths, food booths, and experience programs compared to last year. Many students visited the event as various pleasures were prepared, including delicious food, fun games, and photo zones where you can create special memories. ▲ students using a food truck
Amid rising expectations for the festival, students' opinions on various food selections are also actively gathered. Lee Han-kyul, a English literature student who participated in the festival, said, "I enjoyed popular food such as tteokbokki and takoyaki without resistance, and I was satisfied with more kinds of food trucks this year than last year.“ She also expressed her feelings, saying, “There are fewer kinds of desserts than food, so I hope there will be more variety next year.” ▲ participating in the stand booth and flea market
During the festival, in addition to the booth stalls and flea market, various hands-on programs are provided for students to participate in person, allowing them to have a more meaningful experience. At this festival, our university operated a campaign booth to prevent digital sex crimes and stalking cases at the festival in collaboration with Cheongju YWC Women's General Counseling Center and Cheongdae Human Rights Center. Participants were provided with information on digital sex crimes and stalking prevention at the campaign booth and received counseling information. They also participated in quiz events and received prizes. The booth attracted the attention of many students during the festival and recorded a high participation rate in a short period of time. This campaign booth is designed to raise awareness of digital sex crimes and stalking, and to inform students about prevention and response methods. Approximately 60 students participated in a relatively short period of 30 to 50 minutes to show active interest. An employee of Cheongju YWC Women's General Counseling Center said, "Thank you for actively participating in the campaign booth even though there wasn't much time." ‘She summed up the event by saying, “There were a particular amount of students who requested counseling on their experiences of being victims of digital sex crimes and stalking crimes. Through this campaign, the goal was to raise their awarenesses of these trauma-giving crimes so that they are prevented in the future and I hope it helped them." Meanwhile, various booths operated during this festival received a great response from students. However, there were concerns raised regarding space constraints for booth operations. An employee from the YWC mentioned, "There were more booths than expected, and it would have been better if the space were a bit wider," adding, "It seems like operations such as students queuing or managing booth stalls could proceed more smoothly without overcrowding.
