Meet a Meta-life, CJU!
Our university is currently promoting the 'Meta-Life, CJU!' project, which combines 'Cheongju University' with the 'Metaverse,' a rapidly advancing field globally, to nurture future talents for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. ▲ Meta-Life, CJU! main page / ▲ Our university campus constructed in the metaverse
Even if you are not a student at our university, you can visit Cheongam Hall, and Seokwoo Culture & Sports Complex to participate in events hosted by our university. You can even listen to an explanation about the campus or explore it through the NPC at the main gate. ▲ Campus tour through the NPC at the main gate During exam periods, students can connect their cameras in the library to participate in 'Study With Me' events with other students, and if they reach the top rankings in these events, they can earn points or receive various special rewards. Students can also earn points by completing daily random missions. These points can be exchanged for competency mileage through NPC at the financial center, and more products will be added to the store in the future. ▲ Grand Auditorium of Seokwoo Culture and Sports Center / ▲ Financial Center (Point Store) "Meta-Life, CJU" is not a passive system in which users have to only accept pre-programmed outcomes. We can visit the College of Arts in our university, which is organized in the Metaverse, exhibit or explore various artworks and give "likes." We can also participate in diverse events, such as entrance ceremonies at Seokwoo Culture & Sports Complex, and enjoy a lot of custom-made game content by interacting with arcade machines at the Main Complex Stadium.
The platform allows users to move or warp directly to any location they want, talk to other users through the chat feature, and express their emotions by using emoticons. In this way, "Meta-Life, CJU" is another dynamic system shaped by its users to actively form their experience by choosing where to go, expressing how they feel, and participating in events of their choice. ▲ Sports Complex Game Zone / ▲ Central Plaza Notice Bulletin Hyun-jin Woo, a student of the Division of BT Convergence, said, "I accessed the metaverse to participate in an event held by the school, and I found the environment was organized like the actual campus building, so I thought it would be useful for freshmen to get familiar with the building location." She also noted, "The ability to study in the library creates a focused atmosphere, allowing me to feel like I'm studying on campus without physically being there." However, she added, "The platform still has limited functionality, so I hope more features will be introduced in the future."
Seo-jin Oh, a student of the Department of Social Welfare, expressed her willingness to participate in the platform, saying, "I haven't participated yet, but I've heard from friends that they're actively participating. I'm especially interested because various events are held on the Metaverse campus, and participants can earn competency mileage when they participate in events, so If I get the chance, I'd love to join at least once."
Se-yeon Kim, a student of the Department of Biopharmaceutical, said, "In the previous version, it was uncomfortable, such as a slow Internet environment or interrupted Internet connections, but I appreciate that the renewed version has addressed these issues based on user feedback." She added, "I think it's a valuable experience that earning points can be exchanged for competency mileage, and so that I can use them to take lectures or engage with extracurricular programs that provide a valuable experience." In particular, she said, "Our university actively reflects feedback and holds events in the Metaverse space. I think students can have various experiences in the Metaverse space, and they will participate more and more.“ |
