Our university held Amazon E-Commerce Competition

The Cheongdae Times Regular reporter Seung-Min Ma

Our university's Global Trade Expert Promotion Program (GTEP) announced that it held a B2B e-commerce competition through the global e-commerce platform Amazon(amazon.com).

Top World's mask pack, Maberman vehicle glass towel, Two Living bamboo toothbrush, LM subdivider spray container, and Miss Plus bath products participated in this competition. Students were evaluated for their performance in setting up Amazon accounts, listing products, establishing sales strategies, and marketing.

Seung-joon Choi, Soo-yeon Kim, Yoo-jin Shin, Byung-ik Oh, Won-haeng Heo, and Yoo-min Kang, who announced the contents of the baby bath agent's entry into the U.S. market through Amazon, won the first place with excellent results in Amazon account registration, product listing, and sales strategies.

Therefore, they were also qualified to participate in the national e-commerce competition held by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association in November. Soo-ah Choi's team and Jae-yeop Shim's team received the Korea International Trade Association Trade Academy Award.

Professor Jae-young Lee, head of our university's GTEP business group said, "This e-commerce competition is very meaningful in that students are playing a role in exploring overseas markets for local small businesses through Amazon, a global e-commerce platform.

In the future, we will strengthen global e-commerce education for students participating in the GTEP project and continue our efforts to create social values of universities and develop local communities through cooperation with local small businesses. In addition, I hope our students will actively participate in the GTEP project."

The regional specialized youth trade expert training project has been implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association in cooperation with 20 universities nationwide since 2007, producing 9,544 youth trade experts.

This year, 707 students from 20 universities across the country will support the overall trade work of local SMEs such as import and export, exhibition marketing, and global e-commerce through more than 480 hours of theoretical education and field training.
