World Design Awards for 15 years in a row

: The United States ‘IDEA 2022’ Da-bin Lee and Ji-soo Kim of Indistrial Design Major receive an honorable award.

Our University has set a monumental goal of ‘Winning the world’s top 3 design award for 15 consecutive years’ by winning the main award at the ‘IDEA 2022’, a world renowned international design award.

Da-bin Lee’s(4th year industrial design major) “Turn Table Induction” design, which won the main award, is for single-person households, and one induction can be attached to the wall when not being used, giving the utility of space utilization. Also, it was highly praised for its functionality that allows users to listen to radio or music through speakers.

Ji-soo Kim’s (4th year industrial design major) “Growing” design is a plant grower that can grow companion plants and vegetables indoors. Watering and cooling can be automatically set for plants to grow well, and the built-in fan is designed to generate wind to prevent mold, which received favorable comments from the judges.

Professor Dong-ha Kim said, “The production of two winners at IDEA, one of the world’s top three design awards is meaningful result made by professors and students who worked tirelessly even in the harsh environment where COVID-19 continued for a long time.”

President Chun-soo Cha said, “Our school’s industrial design major has achieved excellent results every year and has been recognized internationally. We will nurture the industrial design major which is specialization major so that it can become the best design school in Korea.”
