Cheongju University was third in the university team at the "2020 International PAV Technology Contest". It also said it won the Encouragement Prize at No. 5 in the overall ranking.


"PAV" will develop into a futuristic personal aircraft and urban aviation mobility (UAM). Recently, mobility companies around the world, including Hyundai Motor and Ovo, are preparing for technological development and commercialization, and it is a future growth industry.


Cheongju University participated in this contest in three departments: the Department of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Kim Hyung Tae, Kim Min Jae, Yoo Yong Duk, Lee Kyung Hee, Jung Do Won, Choi Gun Hee, Hong Jin Hui), the Department of Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering (Lim Hye Jung), and the Department of Industrial Design (Jo In Jae).


Second and third graders were also composed and jointly participated in a team called "TRi3". This team was formed as part of the creative fusion curriculum (Professors Moon Jung Ho, Lim Dong Kyun, Cho Yoon Ho) promoted by Cheongju University since last year.

The PAV Technology Contest is a competition that comprehensively evaluates the design, manufacture, and flight technology capabilities of futuristic aircraft, and has been held in Gyeongnam since 2010 with the participation of all domestic and foreign universities, industries, and general teams.


A total of 25 teams participated this year, and the final eight teams that passed the first and second technical examinations from March participated in the final round and held a running and flight contest. In the overall ranking, the US general team won the 1st place, the domestic general team won the 2nd place, and the university teams Chungnam University, Konkuk University, and Cheongju University won the 3rd, 4th, and 5th places.


Meanwhile, the Cheongju University TRi3 team produced the design of the aircraft for more than a year even in Corona 19. We have entered the design of a challenging and creative aircraft that will compete in next year's international competition.
