On Tuesday, March 27th, starting from 2 p.m. the Haeoreum Festival, organized by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Student Council, took place at the plaza of Cheongju University's University Culture Hall. As the cold winter passed and warm spring weather arrived, various events and exhibitions were held as programs for Cheongju University students to enjoy.
The Haeoreum Festival is the beginning of the Humanities and Social Sciences Student Council's activities for the new year of 2024, the Year of Gabjin. It symbolizes the start of a new journey and wishes happiness for the students of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. As it is an event that occurs only once a year, students eagerly anticipate it and look forward to creating many memorable experiences.
This event was divided into two parts, Part 1 and Part 2. In Part 1, there was an opening ceremony, introductions and speeches by guests, and an introduction to the student council. Part 2 featured a talent show where students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences could showcase their talents, as well as raffles and other events. Specially one of the most special aspects of this event was the time allocated for each department's student council to present their motto. During this segment, representatives from each department's student council lined up on stage. The spokesperson, representing the student council, rolled their foot to the rhythm, injecting energy into their delivery, and expressed the goals of each student council.
During the event, there were mats provided in front of the stage, allowing students to sit comfortably and enjoy the performances. Additionally, students could also be seen sitting on the stairs behind the plaza, enjoying the performances from there. Nalim Park, student majoring in English Language and Literature, class of 23 who served as the MC for this event, said, The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Student Council, named 'film,' said, "As it was the first event we directly organized and also served as the inaugural ceremony for the 'film' student council, the event carried significant meaning for us. We were determined to conclude it successfully." They mentioned facing some challenges during the event planning process.
They also mentioned, "We continuously deliberated on how to make the event more meaningful for the students of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. We made changes and revisions to our plans until the day before the Haeoreum Festival. Despite the somewhat chaotic preparations for our first event, we were fortunate to conclude the event without major issues." |
