 Our school runs a wide range of extracurricular programs that help students grow in many areas, such as strengthening major skills, exploring careers, developing themselves, and improving real-world abilities. These programs are divided into in-person and online, so students can choose what fits their learning style and preference. If a student likes to meet people, share ideas, and build a network, the in-person programs are a good fit. On the other hand, if a student prefers to focus alone, listen comfortably, or search for materials on their own, the online programs work well.

 

 Our school’s extracurricular programs do not end with simple participation. When students finish a program, they earn mileage points. Each time a student completes a program, they get a set number of extracurricular mileage points. These points are later calculated through relative evaluation and then turned into scholarships. The scholarship is sent to each student’s bank account at the end of the semester. This process gives many students real rewards and strong motivation to learn. As students earn more mileage, they feel a sense of achievement and get more benefits, so these programs have become an important part of students’ self-management and growth during the semester.

 

 Also, our school offers more programs in the second semester than in the first semester, and they are more diverse. So it is good for students to keep this in mind when planning their semester. In the second semester, programs related to job preparation, career exploration, practical training, and certification courses are offered, so students have many choices. Students can join programs throughout the semester, collect mileage, gain new experiences, and finish the year with a scholarship as a reward.

 

 So what kinds of extracurricular programs help students earn mileage? To answer this question, we organized the main programs offered at our school. Among the many categories, the following are the representative programs that actually give mileage. The programs below are only part of the whole list, and the details can change every semester.

 

 First, there is the vision design program. In this field, students can take a career aptitude test and a competency test to understand their career path clearly and identify their strengths and abilities objectively. Usually, students get about 100 mileage points when they complete this program. The results can be used to plan their future studies and career choices, and they also help students check their values and job preferences. It is especially useful for students who do not have a clear career yet, and anyone can join regardless of their major. It is mainly offered for freshmen and sophomores who often struggle with career choices. It helps them set their career direction step by step from the start of college life.

 

There is also a clinic program available. One of the most popular extracurricular programs is the writing clinic. It helps students improve their writing skills, such as report writing, sentence structure, and logical flow. It is popular among students who feel stressed about writing long essays, want to write better self-introductions, or simply want to improve their writing ability. Students usually receive one hundred mileage points after completing this program.

 Many intensive classes and basic liberal arts programs are also offered. For example, the midterm and final exam review classes are very popular. They help students review what they didn’t understand in class and prepare for exams more effectively. The humanities lecture series ‘Rhizome’ is also open every semester. This program lets students listen not only to our professors but also to professors from other universities. It is a great chance to expand one’s thinking in the humanities, no matter their major. ‘Rhizome’ offers 150 mileage points, and because it opens with different topics every semester, it is loved by many students. It is especially recommended for students who want to gain both humanities knowledge and high mileage at the same time.

 

 There is also the learning community program. Students make study groups, study together, or join tutoring programs led by seniors or peers. These programs also offer a lot of mileage. They help students build teamwork, feel responsible, and strengthen their motivation to study.

 

 The language skill programs are another important category. The intensive English conversation program is especially popular among students who want to prepare for jobs and improve global skills. It focuses on real conversation practice, helping students grow not only their language ability but also their confidence. Both group classes and 1:1 classes with a professor are offered, so students can choose what they like. These programs usually give a very high amount of mileage—about 800 points.

 

 Career-related programs are also important. Students can join online programs such as “Dream Step” or “Career Compass,” which help them explore their career paths. These programs are mainly designed for freshmen and sophomores who often struggle with career decisions, but juniors and seniors can also take part. Since the classes are held online in real time, students can join from anywhere, so the satisfaction level is high. They also provide 600 mileage points, which makes them very popular.

 

 Psychological and emotional support programs are also offered. These programs help students reduce stress, manage their emotions, and understand themselves better. For example, online psychological tests like MBTI or the CST strengths-and-weaknesses test help students check their tendencies objectively. The ‘Home Yoga’ program is good for body relaxation and stress relief, and the smartphone overuse prevention program helps students manage digital dependence and learn healthier habits. There are also experience-based programs like sign language classes and making natural soap. These programs help students deal with stress and take care of themselves. They usually provide 100 to 150 mileage points.

 

 Job competency programs are also something students should keep an eye on. There are many programs that help students improve practical job skills and understand different job roles. One popular example is the Photoshop graphic training course, which offers high mileage because the content is high-quality. Many students who are interested in design take part in this program. The computer skills certification course is also very important for job preparation. It helps students gain skills needed in office or administrative jobs. Students do not need to pay for outside institutes or online lectures because they can prepare through the school’s program, which is a big advantage. One representative example is the Blender Cartoon Rendering course. It offers real skills for students interested in 3D modeling or animation, and it is popular among students who want careers in design or video. The Unity game programming course helps students learn the basics of game development. It gives 800 mileage points, and its curriculum is well-structured and advanced. The Excel skills course helps students learn essential data-handling skills, and many students join it. These programs are great for students who want to gain practical skills that match current industry trends.

 

 Entrepreneurship programs are also offered. Special lectures on start-ups help students who want to prepare for or learn about entrepreneurship. They get real insights from actual entrepreneurs, from idea development to execution strategies.

 

 Students can also earn mileage simply by submitting scores from TOEIC or TEPS. The amount of mileage depends on the score range, and if a student already has a score, it is one of the easiest ways to earn mileage. Students also get mileage for taking the school’s mock TOEIC test, even just by participating. They can check their real ability and earn points without much pressure, so many students use this option. Volunteer hours, awards from school competitions, different certificates, and second foreign language scores are also counted in the mileage evaluation.

 

 The programs introduced above are only part of our school’s extracurricular programs. The details and courses change each semester, and even more programs may be offered.  The biggest advantage of the mileage system is, of course, the scholarship. But more importantly, students at our school can take many certificate courses, practical training, humanities and language lectures, and career programs for free. Usually, students have to pay a lot for private academies or online courses, but our school offers all these programs for free, so students don’t need to spend their own money. This is a great opportunity and benefit for students, helping them with self-development and building real qualifications.

우리대학는 학생들의 전공 능력 강화를 넘어, 진로 탐색, 자기 계발, 실무 능력 확대 등 다양한 분야에서 성장할 수 있도록 폭넓은 비교과 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 이러한 비교과 프로그램은 대면과 비대면 방식으로 구분되어, 각각의 학습 환경과 개인 성향에 맞추어 선택할 수 있다는 점이 큰 장점이다. 사람들과 직접 만나 의견을 나누고 네트워크를 형성하며 배우는 것을 선호하는 학생이라면 대면 프로그램이 적합하다. 반대로 혼자서 집중해 듣거나 스스로 자료를 탐색하며 편안하게 참여하고 싶은 학생에게는 비대면 프로그램이 유리하다.

학습 공동체 프로그램 또한 있다. 학생들이 학습 공동체를 구성해 함께 공부하는 학습동아리, 선배나 친구로부터 도움을 받으며 진행하는 튜터링 프로그램 역시 많은 마일리지를 제공한다. 협업 학습을 통해 학습 동기를 강화할 수 있고, 책임감과 소속감을 기를 수 있다는 점에서 높은 만족도를 보인다.

 

어학실무 프로그램 또한 중요한 프로그램 중 하나이다. 취업과 글로벌 역량 강화를 준비하는 학생들이 선호하는 영어회화 집중과정이 대표적이다. 실제 회화 능력 향상을 위한 실전 중심의 프로그램으로 구성되어 있으며, 어학 실력 향상은 물론 자신감과 표현력까지 발전시킬 수 있다. 다대다 그룹 프로그램과 교수와 직접 대면하는 1:1 프로그램이 모두 운영되고 있어 학생의 선호 스타일에 자유롭게 선택할 수 있다. 특히 이 프로그램들은 일반적으로 800점의 매우 높은 마일리지가 제공된다.

 

진로 관련 프로그램 또한 중요하다. 바쁜 일정 속에서도 비대면으로 편하게 참여할 수 있는 온라인 드림스텝, 진로 탐색을 돕는 진로나침반 등 다양한 유형의 온라인 프로그램들이 마련되어 있다. 주로 진로 고민이 많은 저학년 학생들을 위해 개설되었지만, 물론 3, 4학년들도 자유롭게 수강할 수 있다. 시간과 장소의 제약 없이 참여할 수 있어 학생들의 만족도가 높다. 마찬가지로 600점이라는 높은 마일리지를 제공하여 학생들에게 인기가 많다.
